David Soul - Don't Give Up On Us

Why are there men who are sad?
After younger years of somewhat euphoria,
men are not supposed to be sad.
Do not ever be sad.
Keep going.
Remember whom this song is for.
Keep doing.
Do not stop until the end.
Keep moving.
Strive to be happy...
 Everyday..
Every hour...
Every minute..
Every second of your life.
Do not give up on you.
Be happy.

Conserve peat swamp forests, conserve our future

What is a peatland?

Peat is a soil which is composed of 65% or more organic matter (mostly semi-decomposed plant matter: trees, sedges, grasses, mosses); Normally black in color and spongy (Peat can contain c 90% water) ; Contrast: Mineral soils are made up of inorganic matter (e.g. sand, silt, clay). – ASEAN Peatlands Forest Project

How is a peatland related to fire protection?

Peat has high carbon content and can burn under low moisture conditions. Once ignited by the presence of a heat source (e.g. a wildfire penetrating the subsurface), it smolders. These smoldering fires can burn undetected for very long periods of time (months, years and even centuries) propagating in a creeping fashion through the underground peat layer. Peat fires are emerging as a global threat with significant economic, social and ecological impacts. -source: wikipedia

Saving the Philippine Peatlands

There are only but a few PEATLANDS in the world. The Philippines is one of the lucky countries to have PEATLANDS. You can do your share in saving our own PEATLANDS. Let us act NOW.

In February 2011, I was involved in PEATLANDS, not in the Philippines but in Malaysia.
I will continuously do my part in this endeavor until there are PEATLANDS that must be protected.

Pledge

I can compare my love for you to the precious word, service.

Because I love you, I should live without fear for I know you are there.

I should go through such pain and suffering without complaining; because of my love for you I will do everything. I should learn to appreciate the beauty of the common things around me – you deserve my greatest appreciation.

I should serve you whether you are the lowliest or the poorest, you will always be my master without counting the cost or asking something in return.

I will be glad to be alive with you but I will never be afraid to die for you.

My love for you is beyond compare.

Of me, of you and of words

I NEED YOU are the most concealed words of all time.
YOU is a very important word. It will have no meaning if the person saying "you" thinks of saying MYSELF instead of you.
Hope is just a word. It will never have meaning to the person who does not strive for it.
Faith is just a word. It has no meaning without the person's will to have faith.
Care is just a word. It is useless if it is not freely shown and given.
Love is just a word. I has no meaning if its essence is not being felt because it is never shown.
Sorry is not enough when it is just a word. You have to live by it.
I will always try to strive for the good in everyone although I may not be that good in the eyes of the people I care for.
This is "I." This is "you". These are WORDS. Yet, there are lives within those words.

Memories of Rizal's True Love, Leonor Rivera

…when Leonor agreed to marry the English engineer Kipping to abide by her mother’s wishes, Rizal was devastated. He was said to have cried like a child after reading her letter.

Before marrying Henry Kipping, Rivera’s mother turned over to Leonor the letters she had kept from her all this while. Devastated Leonor burned the letters and kept the ashes a handmade box monogrammed “JL.”

..with frail health overcoming her upon the stillbirth of her second child – a daughter – and before dying, she requested that she be buried in a green dress. It was later discovered that in the hem of the dress, are delicately sewn letters she earlier received from Jose Rizal.

FOR LOVERS OF HISTORY, JOSE RIZAL AND THE REST OF MAN'S ACHIEVEMENTS, YOU WILL LIKE TO VISIT FOR SURE THE YUCHENGCO MUSEUM.

LOCATED AT AYALA AVENUE CORNER GIL PUYAT AVENUE IN MAKATI CITY. A STONE'S THROW AWAY FROM THE MAKATI CITY CENTRAL FIRE STATION.
